The exhibition is located in the building of the former Orthodox synagogue, which is also currently used for spiritual purposes. The permanent exhibition of Jewish culture was opened on June 30th 1996 in the premises of the Little synagogue. Most of the exhibits are sacral objects, which are the property of Žilina‘s Jewish community.
The museum is located in the area of cultural monument Budatín Castle. It covers the history of Slovak tinkers‘ craft at home and abroad. It also manages the folk painted wooden houses in Čičmany (Raden’s house and the House No. 42), the exhibition "Jánošík and Terchová", Strečno Castle , Budatín Castle, the Wedding Palace in Bytča and the Transport Museum in Rajecké Teplice.
Exhibition called "Alexander Lombardini´s life and work – History of the House" is the first private museum exhibition. On the ground floor, there are situated panels containing the main characteristics of Alexander Lombardini´s life and work. The exhibition showing the history of the house is located on the building´s basement.
